"The whole world is looking at you"- Eld. Stephen
We all carry a cross whether we know it or not.
Some of us carry a cross of bitterness and it weighs us down each and every day. Some also may carry a cross of illness, which can take total control over our lives. Others may carry shame, family struggles, unresolved issues, rebellion, unrepentant heart and the list goes on. Some of these crosses can make us strong, but only if we overcome them.
Jesus was on the cross with two other criminals. The account of Luke 23, reveals that many were demanding that Jesus saves himself, to prove that He really is the messiah. One criminal joined in and scoffed saying, “So you’re the Messiah, are you? Prove it by saving yourself—and us, too, while you’re at it!” However the other criminal jumped in saying, "“Don’t you even fear God when you are dying? We deserve to die for our evil deeds, but this man hasn’t done one thing wrong.”
Whatever cross we carry, it is grows to become a bigger burden on us. Perhaps it is a past that you can't let go off, and you have limited yourself because of it.
You have two options, to be the criminal on the left and be embittered, unrepentant, failing to recognise that you need saving, or be the criminal on the right, humbling yourself with the fear of God, and you will be saved. In fact Jesus, promised the criminal on the right, that He will be in paradise with Him, that very same day.
"The whole world is looking at you", therefore you owe it to God, to yourself, to the others around you to be an overcomer.
